The 91¶¶Òõ at Rock County Theatre Department is open to all students, staff, faculty and community members. Opportunities include performance, production, technical theatre, management, and other theatrical/media-related avenues.

Our goal is to increase awareness of the arts and create an avenue for expression both here on campus and in the community at large. We accomplish this goal through workshops, guest lectures, collaboration with local arts groups, and in-house performances. In more recent years, we have become more participant driven and will continue that in the foreseeable future. If you'd like to put on your own production, workshop, lecture, or other such opportunities, let us know and we will work with you!

The Kirk Denmark Theatre is now the home of , a nonprofit organization that produces high-quality community musical theatre for the benefit of the southern Wisconsin area.

Our theatre arts-centric campus club, the Student Performing Arts Association, is an arm of our theatre department and allows students to organize and implement theatrical related opportunities on campus and beyond.

The Creative Studio

Two students and a faculty member stand in a room with purple walls and a sign that says Creative Studio.

URock features a Creative Studio, located in Wells Cultural Center, where the campus community can create podcasts, video game streams, and many other forms of content. The studio is led by Lecturer Trevor Rees, who also teaches the podcasting course. Here, Rees goes over the studio’s tech with students John Venable and Peyton Bishop before they begin their podcasts.

“We do podcasting, we can do video game streaming, we have video podcasting set up, we can do mobile units around campus and beyond as well,” said Rees.

Rees is shown here going over the studio’s tech with students John Venable and Peyton Bishop before they begin their podcasts. Read more about Rees, his work with students, and the opportunities he hopes to offer in this story — with video — about the Creative Studio.

For more about using the Creative Studio, contact Trevor Rees at reest@uww.edu or 608-898-5063.
